This very beautiful sphere vase was created by Sara and Ivana Vignoli, sisters who have carried on their time-honored family tradition of working with ceramics in Faenza, Italy – an important center of European ceramic production.  Inspiration for their limited series, museum-quality, pieces is from classical Byzantine, Roman and Islamic cultures.  These decorative themes are combined with a modern and distinctive production technique which involves glazes and very high kiln temperatures.  Each piece is an unique work of art and a modern reinterpretation of history.

This form of this vase is inspired by ancient Roman amphora vessels.
